YouthBridge Safety Center

Build ambitious things. Keep the room safe.

YouthBridge connects students across countries around real work. Safety controls are designed into team formation, communication, evidence sharing, and institution access.

Purpose-bound communication

Messaging exists inside accepted opportunity teams. YouthBridge does not provide unrestricted adult-to-student direct messages.

Private by default

Student profiles and institution discovery start private. Public evidence and Scout access require separate student choices.

Reportable team rooms

Students can file a private report from a team room. Reports enter a restricted moderator queue and are not shown to the reported team.

Guardian participation gate

Accounts identified as under 18 cannot join teams, message, attach artifacts, or submit work until guardian consent is verified.

Evidence, not popularity

There are no follower counts or public engagement scores. Reputation comes from projects, artifacts, submissions, and peer checks.

What to report

  • harassment, threats, hate, or repeated unwanted contact;
  • sexual content, grooming behavior, or pressure for secrecy;
  • requests for private addresses, passwords, money, or identity documents;
  • impersonation, suspicious accounts, plagiarism, or unsafe files;
  • attempts to move a purpose-bound conversation into an unsafe channel.

Use the Safety button inside the relevant team room when possible so the report includes the correct team context. You can also email hello@youthbridge.net.

If danger is immediate

Leave the conversation, preserve relevant evidence, tell a trusted adult, and contact the appropriate emergency service in your location. A YouthBridge report is not an emergency-response service.

Do not investigate alone

Do not confront a suspicious user, arrange an in-person meeting, send money, or share more private information to prove what happened.

How reports are handled

1. IntakeThe report is stored privately with its team or message context and enters the moderation queue.

2. TriageAuthorized safety staff assign priority, record review actions, and restrict an account when participation creates risk.

3. OutcomeThe reporter can see whether the case is open, reviewing, resolved, or dismissed. Moderator notes remain access-controlled.
